The public is invited to participate in discussions during the North Aleutian Basin Energy-Fisheries Workshop, scheduled for March 18–19, 2008, at the Marriott Downtown Hotel in Anchorage.

In 2007, many of the region's fishing groups and seafood processors, Native organizations, community leaders, environmentalists and conservationists, and energy interests launched the North Aleutian Basin Energy-Fisheries Initiative. This collaboration between regional stakeholders and the oil and gas industry seeks to create a mechanism for dialog, information exchange, and research planning.
